We are delighted to announce the new members of the 2018 Women's Work Short Play LAB! This year we received almost 40 applications, and it was a difficult task to winnow that down to six members--an indication of the quality of applications that we received. The writers are joined by six members of our director/dramaturgical team, who will help shepherd original scripts from conception to finished product over a 6-month period. Mark your calendars for the annual Festival in which you can see these new plays: August 6-11, 2018.  This year's theme is RESISTANCE IS FUTILE.

NPTC selected for Barbour Playwrights Award!

We couldn't be more thrilled to have been selected as the Company presented by the 2018 Barbour Playwrights Award Program! This gives us the opportunity to promote our Women's Work Full-length LAB and the quality of scripts that program produces. It also gives one of our playwrights the chance to win $500! Three scripts will be read in the month of March (by Sandra Daley-Sharif, Teresa Lotz and Alexis Roblan. Find out more !

Join us on March 15, 2018 for PECULIAR SAM, a musical theatre piece that premiered in 1880! Directed by Arminda Thomas, the play is considered to be the first commercial work by an African American female writer. Dramaturg Celia Braxton puts the "Play In Context" for us. Admission is by donation, and the evening concludes with a moderated discussion about the play and playwright. Wollman Hall, the New School, starts at 7pm Doors open at 6:45pm

We are delighted to have been invited to perform again in the Alternative Theatre Festival, produced by the Colombian Theatre Coporation! We were a hit in 2016 with two shorts from the Women's Work Project. This time we are taking two more shorts, written by Alexis Roblan and Alisa Zhulina. Help us FLY there by contributing to our INDIEGOGO campaign.
